A little planning is needed to get to Seldovia
As the crow flies, Seldovia, Alaska is 16 air miles south of Homer, Alaska and is accessible only by boat or plane. Homer is 240 road miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska.
Charter air travel from Anchorage to Seldovia is available through Alaska Air Taxi and Sound Aviation.

Travel by water from Homer to Seldovia on the Seldovia Bay Ferry (known as the “fast ferry” as it is the quickest commute from Homer at 45 minutes), Wildlife Tours boats (MV Rainbow Connection or MV Discovery), or the Alaska State Marine Highway System.
Water travel to Jakolof Bay is also available in Homer from Mako’s Water Taxi and Red Mountain Marine. Transportation arrangements for pick up in Jakolof Bay will need to be done in advance in order to get to Seldovia.
Air travel is available from Homer on Smokey Bay Air on a scenic flight over Kachemak Bay to the Seldovia Airport.
