Fantastic, and affordable, place to stay in Seldovia!
The host was wonderful and so was the dog. Confession: the dog was my favorite part. He’s such a sweetheart. I felt like I got to have a dog while I was in Seldovia. Rooms were spotless and homey. Great location, walk to everything. Best free breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel, way better than the crappy “coffee & carbs” setup everywhere else has.
I will be back next time I’m in Seldovia!
Came to visit Seldovia with my wife. I had been here before as a child. The town is lovely, very laid back and visually stunning. The Sea Parrot Inn is a gem in the wilderness. The rooms are so much more than I was expecting from a three star listing. They were in the middle of remodeling after heavy winter storms and I can only imagine how nice it will be after the work is complete. Mary the owner was very helpful with everything and gave us direction to wander around the small community. The area is an untapped mecca of wilderness activities, although you need a permit to cross some of the surrounding tribal property, but that can be obtained locally. There are several trails in the area and beaches to explore. Bring a bike and you can travel out the road to Jakalof Bay. The area is a photographic paradise.
Perry’s Café, the in house restaurant has some of the best food in town, ice cream, and coffee to boot.
I recommend staying at the Sea Parrot Inn when in Seldovia. I would take a trip over just to stay there. Very relaxing and comfortable.
